Hi Ash, can you start by telling us a bit about yourself.
I am a cool nerd, passionate about technologies but not your typical geek. I Graduated from University with a first-class Honours Degree in Network Engineering, Security and Systems Administration, then jumped straight into the IT game.
What does the typical day look like for you at Q2Q?
I am one of the senior technical support engineers. I tend to work on more infrastructure-based issues, deal with a customer crisis when it happens, onboarding new clients, and perform project work to improve client’s systems. I also assist the other team members here at Q2Q on more challenging problems while providing them with training and leading them to further their technical careers.
Your’ Tech Top Tip’?
Always go cable; this is a very basic tip with huge gains. If there is a network cable available to use for your devices (for example, a laptop) then use it! This will provide you with a much more reliable connection at greater speed. Wi-Fi and cellular connections are prone to interference, usually perform at slower speeds and are less reliable.
What do you like about working at Q2Q?
I enjoy working with technologies, and at Q2Q I get to work with many. I also like working with many different client bases as no two clients are the same; this allows me to expand my technical knowledge further and keeps things dynamic and fresh.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, being outside or competitive gaming in my own spare time.
What has been your favourite moment whilst working at Q2Q? / A moment where you felt like a superhero’?
The best moments are resolving critical business issues that have caused a significant impact to the client; the feeling of getting the client back up and running is great, and I enjoying finding solutions to prevent these events from happening again.
