A WiFi solution for a challenging space
Client: Oglethorpe, Sturton & Gillibrand Solicitors
What was the challenge?
Our Lancaster based client had previously been told it was “impossible” to provide a reliable and robust business WiFi solution, due to the historic building they were based in. Incredibly thick walls, limited scope for expansion of existing network infrastructure and high costs were all cited as insurmountable barriers to this technology.
How did Q2Q Contribute?
Using state of the art Aruba Network Technology, Q2Q were able to survey, design and provision WiFi Access Points to the crux areas of the business, providing reliable, secure and high-performance Wireless networking for both staff and visitors alike. Segregation of internal and guest network traffic was delivered to the client to ensure all users were able to access only relevant data or communication services, as required.
What was the result for the client?
For visiting solicitors and barristers, and the internal staff meeting with these guests, a secure and reliable guest Wifi is an essential part of the legal world.
With this now in place, our client is able to host multi room meetings, involving complex, multi-client discussions, in a secure and reliable environment.
The clients building sits but a stone’s throw from, and in full view of the Medieval Lancaster Castle (owned by King Charles III himself!). Installing Wifi in the castle would likely be a significantly greater challenge due to the 3m (10ft) thick stone walls!
