We’ve been working with the Bendrigg Trust since September 2020, and we’re proud to say that we’re already making a difference to the organisation’s day-to-day operations.
As a charitable trust, every minute counts for the 30 employees of this specialist outdoor education centre in Old Hutton, Kendal, Cumbria – meaning outsourcing its IT support was key in adapting to ‘the new normal’ during the height of the pandemic.
We spoke to Facilities Manager, Jonny Wolfendale, to find out how our technical team has helped to keep operations running smoothly.
How long have you been working with Q2Q?
Four months.
What are your short and long-term business goals – and what role does Q2Q play?
As a charity, we are always looking for ways to become more sustainable. Outsourcing our IT support means our staff can concentrate on their jobs rather than being pulled off tasks to help with IT-related queries.
In light of the pandemic, so many elements of our business have moved online and with some of our team working from home, IT support has become even more important.
Why did you choose Q2Q and did you research other potential partners?
Q2Q was one of four IT companies considered by the Trust to help take the Centre’s technology support forward. Knowing the team was geographically close to us was one of many reassuring factors in the decision, and our initial audit was a very smooth and straightforward process thanks to Damien Gelder and his ability to make highly convoluted terminology understandable to the layperson!
What services do the Q2Q team provide currently?
Day-to-day, managed IT support.
What do these services mean on a day-to-day basis?
It enables our office team to work more efficiently, while also helping us to remain up to date with increasingly important security systems and safeguards. Having the required updates taken care of automatically means our staff can work more efficiently – and without any tech distractions – when they are in the office, virtual or otherwise.
What difference has Q2Q made to your business?
It has brought consistency throughout our IT systems and security, as well as helped us to work much more efficiently.
